FIR System Downtime 2026

To All FIR Users–Please be advised that in the new year, the Financial Information Return (FIR) system will undergo a major system upgrade during which the FIR system and all associated applications will be unavailable.
The upgrade is scheduled to begin on Friday, January 30th, 2026, and may potentially take until March 3rd, 2026 to complete.
During this period, users will not be able to initialize, backup, restore, or submit their FIRs. Municipalities that had previously downloaded and initialized their FIRs may continue to complete them during this time. In addition, the system will not be available for Smart View reporting/analytics purposes.
While the FIR website will be available only on weekdays (with the exception of Friday February 6th and Friday February 13th), new content such as ‘By Schedule Reports’, ‘Multi-Year Reports’, ‘Provincial Summaries’, and ‘.CSV files’ will not be added during the upgrade period.
An additional reminder will be issued closer to the start date of the maintenance period.
